MADISON, N.C.—Mrs. Josephine Webster Penn, 98, of Madison, N.C. died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Penn was born Sept. 29, 1911 in Rockingham County, N.C. to the late Robert Bayard Webster and Annie King Webster. She lived 80 years at the Vaughn-Penn Plantation known as “The Boxwoods,” the beloved family home of her husband.
Mrs. Penn was a lifelong member of the Madison Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Vaughn Penn; two sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Lee Penn Byerly of Franklin, VA and Madison, N.C.; son-in-law, Hanes Byerly of Franklin, VA; granddaughter, Belinda Penn Byerly-Robins and husband Scott Robins; and two great grandchildren, Avery Penn Robins, and Marshall Hanes Robins of San Jose, Ca.
Memorials may be made to the Madison Presbyterian Church, 204 W. Decatur Street, Madison, NC 27025. Ray Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
