IVOR—Vera Rochelle Edwards Worrell, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Lizzie Edwards and the widow of Fenton B. Worrell.
She is survived by two daughters, Betsy Rochelle W. Cutright and Patty W. Felts and her husband, Wayne; three grandchildren, Michael Felts and wife, Renee, Neil Cutright and wife, Jennifer, and Leslie Rochelle F. Adams and her husband, Dean; five great-grandchildren, Hillary Drake, Taylor Felts, Dustin Cutright, Cara Cutright and Haley Adams; a brother-in-law, Sam Butler; and two sisters-in-law, Jane Gee and Margaret Edwards.
Vera was the last of her siblings, sisters, Ira Whitley, Lillian Bradshaw, Elizaberth Beale, Giva Butler and twin, Vivian Edwards; and her brothers, Joseph Edwards, Sr., William Jimmy Edwards, Lionel Edwards and Robert Edwards. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Amos (Butch) Cutright.
Vera was the owner and operator of Vera’s Beauty Shop in Ivor for many years and a person of many talents. She was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2:00PM at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church in Zuni. Burial will follow in Ivor Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield on Thursday evening from 7-8:30PM and at other times at Vera’s home.
