Lois D. Edwards

Franklin- Lois Drewry Edwards, 76, passed away January 30, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital with her loving family at her side. Lois was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late Clinton McKinley and Harriet Joyner Drewry and was predeceased by a sister, Mary D. Lankford and a brother, C. M. Drewry, Jr. She was a longtime member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Mills Robert (Bob) Edwards; her daughters, Vicky E. Copeland (Peter) of Franklin and Lisa E. Obenchain (Scott) of Troutville: her sons, Bobby Edwards (Starr) of Georgetown, SC and Doug Edwards (Candy) of Franklin; three sisters, Eunice D. Blythe of Franklin, Rose D. Whitehead of Smithfield and Pearl D. Darden of Franklin; one brother, Elliott Drewry (Phyllis) of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Aubrey Lankford of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Hazel L. Drewry of Newport News; ten grandchildren, Amber, Landon, Gene, Tinnie-Marie, Kris, Lindsay, Courtney, Kaycie, Kristen, and Nicole; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Roger Crump officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery in Sedley. The family will receive friends today (Monday) from 7 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Sycamore Baptist Church, 31120 Sycamore Church Road, Franklin, Va. 23851; Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department, 201 Delaware Road, Franklin, Va. 23851; or Franklin Fire and Rescue, P.
