To the editor:

If you attended the debate at Southampton High School recently, you could see that the present members of the Board of Supervisors were defending themselves.

If Southampton County has ever needed change, it is now. With the debt this county is in and taxes going up every year, we don’t need more of the same.

If you live in the Franklin District, vote Barry Porter; Courtland, vote Dr. Allen Edwards; Capron, vote Bruce Phillips; and Newsoms, vote Glenn Updike. All four are well qualified to get the job done.

I have known Glenn for many years. He is honest, conservative, a family man and is always working with children. He knows what this county needs and will work for that cause.
