FRANKLIN—Antwon Demont Brown, “Twon,” entered into eternal rest, Nov. 26, 2009, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.
Antwon was born in Washington, D.C. on October 2, 1972. His early childhood years were spent in the Southampton County Public School system. Later he returned to the DC-Maryland area where he received his High School Diploma from the Maryland Public School System. Antwon was employed by Paving Contractor, Inc prior to his illness and was referred to as being a “very good worker”.
Antwon was known for his quiet nature and a subtle sense of humor. He had the ability to bring chuckles to all, even when faced with life’s challenges and failing health. During his illness, he found enjoyment in watching his favorite television show, “The Golden Girls”. He would jokingly refer to his Aunts as being his “My very own Golden Girls.” He also enjoyed reading many types of books and magazines, good food and listening to what he called “his mellow cruising music.”
Survivors include maternal family members; sister, Tameka Pope; brother Donnell Brown; special devoted Godmothers-aunts, Theresa Brown and Suzette Lewis of Franklin; God-Sisters Sherita Brown Sykes and Chemeka Brown Saxon; aunts, Regina Brown, Sabrina Williams, and Mona Lisa Gary; Stepfather, Joe Sam Benton; Uncles, Tyrone Kee, Lafayette Brown (Teresa), and Lester Artis; nieces, Shannon Brown, NyAshia Walden, Keona Pope and Samaria Brown; nephews, Malik Brown and Tyrek Brown.
Antwon is also survived by paternal family members; father, Randolph Jordan (Laura); Aunts, Gladys Williams (Wilroy), Louise Turner (Eddie), Evelyn Gilchrist, Lucille Massline, Alice Mae Dickens, Mary Ellen Dean, Reverend Geneva Patterson (Robert); Brothers, Lydell King, Lamont King, and Randolph Jordan, Jr.; Sisters, Latasha Jordan and Laura Jordan and a host of many cousins, and friends and extended family.
He goes to join in heavenly rest his mother, Edna Ruth Brown-Benton, Brother, Michael LaVon Brown; Grandparents, Lois Brown-Kee and Roosevelt Kee; Maternal Grandfather, Mark Brown; Great-aunts, Shirlean Walker, Daisy Olmo, Lillian Richardson, Lucille Jordan, and Launsaday Deloatch; great-uncles, Willie Bynum, Leroy Walden, Lorenzo Walden, Linburg Walden, Willie Wright, Clarence Jordan and Cleveland Deloatch.
Family members are receiving friends and family at the home of Regina Brown in Branchville.
A wake with open viewing will held Friday, December 4 at Engram’s Funeral Home; 6-8 p.m.
A homegoing service is to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 5 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Boykins, Reverend Curtis Mitchell Pastor. Interment is to follow at the Church cemetery
