Robert J. Goodrich Sr.
FRANKLIN—Robert Jerome Goodrich Sr., 83, died Oct. 28, 2009, at East Pavilion in Franklin.
A native of Surry County, he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth P. Goodrich, and a great-grandson, Jake.
Mr. Goodrich retired from Union Camp in 1986. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Walters Ruritan Club, and was an Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Turner and husband Kea of Carrsville and Julia Bradshaw and husband Jerry of Sedley; two sons, Bobby Goodrich and wife Robin of Carrsville and David Wayne Goodrich and wife Eva of Smithfield; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Shirley Weathers.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Beaver Dam Baptist Church by Dr. Richard Peerey and the Rev. Gregory Kitts.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence of his daughter, Susan Turner.
