BP on Armory Drive held up

FRANKLIN—A robber ran off with a cash register drawer during a holdup at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the New Dixie BP at 1549 Armory Drive, Franklin police said.
The suspect walked into the convenience store through the back door, got a can of beer from the cooler, took it to the cashier and then presented money, police said. When the cashier opened the register, the suspect allegedly grabbed the cash drawer and a struggle followed.
The suspect ran from the store with the cash drawer containing an undetermined amount of money. He got into a white Volkswagen and drove west on Armory Drive into Southampton County.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-9, 200-pound white man with brown hair. He was wearing a white or light grey T-shirt, blue jean shorts, and white and black shoes.
