Southampton Academy soccer up for VCC title

The Southampton Academy boys’ soccer team today, May 7, will go for its first-ever Virginia Commonwealth Conference title when the Raiders face unbeaten rival Kenston Forest.

The Raiders advanced to the finals with a 4-2 victory over Brunswick Academy in Lawrenceville Wednesday.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime off a goal by Raider sophomore Drey Chrysostomou. The remaining goals were scored by seniors Tim Chrysostomou and Brett Moore, and Drey Chrysostomou, his 34th of the season.

Kentson Forest beat Isle of Wight Academy 5-0 on Wednesday to get into the finals.
