Vann C. McKaughan
SUFFOLK—Vann Campbell McKaughan, 75, died Sept. 21, 2009.
A native of Maggie Valley, N.C., he was the son of the late Judson Vann McKaughan and Irene Campbell McKaughan.
Mr. McKaughan was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He was a Doctor of veterinary science and a pathologist for USDA and a graduate of the University of Georgia Veterinary School. He was a member of Holy Neck Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Phyllis Weaver McKaughan of Suffolk; daughters and sons-in-law, Ginny and Wayne McCoy of Virginia Beach and Kelly P. and Tim Harcum of Franklin; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas W. and Dawn Powers of Severn, N.C.; three grandchildren, Emily Asbell (Chris), Matthew Harcum and C.J. Harcum; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Drew Asbell; and brother David A. McKaughan, of Salem, Oregon.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Brent Hobbs officiating.
Burial will follow at Holy Neck Cemetery. Friends may join the family other times at the residence.
