WINDSOR—Angela Charlette Uzzle, 49, died Sept. 11, 2009, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
A native of Suffolk, she graduated from Windsor High School in 1978 and attended three years at the University of Alabama, majoring in Culinary Arts.
She was employed by East End Academy, Newport News, as a billing coordinator until her health failed.
She was predeceased by her father, Charles Henry Uzzle Sr.
She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where she was active with the youth ministry, hospitality committee, mass choir, usher ministry, greeters ministry, Sunday School instructor, and organizer of First Lady Day.
She served her community by working with the Board of Elections during the 2008 presidential election.
Survivors include her devoted fiancé, George D. Knight; mother, Mary Jean Kendall (Ramon Kendall III), stepmother, Barbara Uzzle; goddaughter, Alyssa Simone Scott of Edgewood, Md.; seven sisters, Trinna D. Jones of Edgewood, Tracy R. Evans (Riley) of Windsor, Sheritta M. Tyler of Hampton, C. Nicole Uzzle and Courtney J. Miller both of Chesapeake, Sherry Ashburn (Tyrell) and Wendy Walton (Tony), all of Windsor; three brothers, Charles Henry Uzzle Jr. of Baltimore, Spencer G. Uzzle of Windsor and Brandon Charles Uzzle of Norfolk; three stepbrothers, one stepsister, four aunts, two uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will held at 1 p.m. today at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Suffolk.
Interment will be at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Suffolk.
The family will be at the home of Ramon III and Mary Jean Kendall, 2004 Gunston Drive, Suffolk.
