Varner J. Ivey
NEWSOMS—Varner Jean Ivey, 56, died Sept. 1, 2009.
She was born in Franklin and was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church.
Ms. Ivey was a retired nurse and was a loving, caring and gifted individual whose family will greatly miss her.
Survivors include her parents, Jean and Ralph Ivey; her daughter, Joanna Courtney Ivey: her sister, Teresa Van Damme (David); and her grandson, Cole Thomas Ivey; several uncles and aunts; Buddy Gray, Ann Gray Futrell, Blanche Semchyshyn, Joe Gray, Mike Gray, and a very special uncle, Kenneth Gray and wife Marion.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, with the Rev. Darwin Edwards officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Barnes United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Betty Darden, 33701 Statesville Road, Newsoms, VA 23874.
Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, has charge of arrangements.
