Brenda W. Via
COURTLAND—Brenda Walker Via, 55, died Aug. 4, 2009.
She was a daughter of Joann Hale Walthall and the late James Joseph Walker.
She was also predeceased by a brother, Greg Walker, and a granddaughter, Taylor Buhls.
She was a member of Anticoh Baptist Church and attended Millfield Baptist Church.
She enjoyed playing piano and guitar and was a former minister of music at the First Church of God in Newport News.
Survivors include her companion, Scot McNally; her daughter, Dreama V. Regula; her son, G. Nathan E. Via; two brothers, Clifton Walker and Stefon Walker; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Butcher officiating.
Interment will follow in Millfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
