FRANKLIN—Martha Ann Whitehead Evans of Carter Street died July 23, 2009, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
She was born May 27, 1944 to Norman and Rosa Fiers Whitehead in Franklin.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Edward Whitehead, Willie Whitehead and Daniel Whitehead.
Survivors include her husband, James “JayBird” Evans; two daughters, Juanita Amin of Norfolk and Melissa Williams of Franklin; two sons, Anthony Evans of Franklin and Kenneth Evans of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mary Artis and Anna Rogers of Franklin; two brothers, John Whitehead of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Israel Whitehead of Franklin; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
A service will be held today at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Franklin, with Lou Henish speaking.
The interment will be in Southview Cemetery.
