Lillie M. Russell
FRANKLIN—Lillie Mae Russell, 94, died July 15, 2009, at Courtland Health Care Center.
She was born to the late Charlie and Carrie Hayes on Feb. 14, 1915.
Mrs. Russell was one of 10 siblings who all preceded her in death.
She was raised and educated in Greensville County, where she met and married Jack Russell.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Boykins, since early adulthood.
Survivors include one son, Jack Russell (Shirley) of Boykins; five daughters, Rosa Stephens of Chesapeake, Thelma Richardson and Beatrice Allen of Norfolk, Emma Bottoms (Cleon) of Franklin and Dora Bryant of Oak City, N.C.; 29 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral service was to be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Boykins.
