SUFFOLK—Myrtle “Elaine” Foulk Rodgers, 47, died July 2, 2009, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 27, 1961, in Gates, N.C., to Gloria Beatrice Foulk and the late Hurley Foulk.
Mrs. Rodgers attended Gates County Public Schools and was a graduate of Chowan College.
She was a member of Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ where she formally served on the usher board and choir.
Survivors include her husband, Isaac Rodgers III, one daughter, Gloria Christine Rodgers, one son, Isaiah Christopher Rodgers, all of Franklin; mother, Gloria Foulk of Gates; one sister Janice D. Foulk of Gates; two brothers, Hurley A. Foulk of Virginia Beach and John Foulk of Laurel, Maryland; one uncle, Calvin Faulk Sr., mother-in-law, Christine Rodgers; seven sisters-in-law, Ernette Foulk, Helen Haley, Gwendolyn Rodgers, Aletha “Trudy” Rodgers Ashby, Ethel Rodgers, Denise Veal and Jacqueline Rodgers; three brothers-in-law, Johnny Rodgers, Joe Haley and Larry Veale; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
The family will receive visitors at 1829 Sandbanks Road, Gates.
A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. today at Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ.
