Theophlise Lawrence
SUFFOLK—Theophlise “Buddy” Lawrence, 80, died June 25, 2009.
He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Washington and Emma Lawrence.
He was a widower of Sally Lawrence.
Mr. Lawrence was an Army veteran. He retired from Suffolk City School system after 35 years of service as a bus driver.
He was the owner of Atlantic Ice Co.
He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Patrice Weaver (Andre) and Joyce Worrell, both of Suffolk, and Valerie Darden (Joe) of Franklin; one son, Rodney Hart (Juanita) of Suffolk; six grandchildren; one special friend, Mildred Coles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service was held at noon Tuesday at Tabernacle Christian Church, Suffolk, officiated by Dr. Carlton Upton.
Interment was in Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
