Eula G. Johnson
SUFFOLK—Eula Griffin Johnson, 86, died June 21, 2009, at her residence.
She was born in Tyner, N.C., a daughter of the late Josephine “Dodie” Forehand and Anderson Isaac Griffin.
Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Bernard Howard Johnson, two sons, infant Roy Weldon Johnson and Carlton O. Johnson, three sisters, Marybelle G. Corbitt, Viola G. Johnson, and her twin-sister, Beulah G. Jones; two brothers, Roy Griffin and Joseph Griffin, and a half-brother, Merrill J. Forehand.
She enjoyed family genealogy and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Franklin where she was a member of the Relief Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy J. Vick of Gates, N.C.; three sons, Richard H. Johnson of Carlsbad, N.M., Norman I. Johnson of Franklin, and Glenn Johnson of Suffolk; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Tuesday at George W. Holland Family Cemetery on O’Kelly Drive in Suffolk.
Wright Funeral Home assisted the family.
