NEWPORT NEWS—Thelma Corine Taylor Beamon died June 4, 2009, while a patient in Riverside Hospital.
Mrs. Beamon formerly a Franklin resident was a native of Sussex County, born Sept. 19, 1933 to Howard Taylor Sr. and Annie Potts Taylor.
Mrs. Beamon was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James Thorpe; daughter, Linda Perkinson; two brothers, Robert Thomas Taylor, Horace Taylor; three sisters, Dorothy Camp, Annie Milteer and Mamie Sue Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Beamon; six children, Calvin Thorpe Jr., Melvin Thorpe, Michael Cross, Barbara Cross, Ronald Cross, Kathy Seaborne; four stepchildren, Joseph Beamon Jr., Anna Beamon, Charles Beamon and Diana Suiter; five sisters, Margaret Wiggins, Catherine Taylor, Laura Barnes, Eva Mae Murphy and Gladys Denson; four brothers, Howard Taylor Sr., Wallace Taylor, Robert Lee Jordan, Roger Jordan; two sons-in-law, Willie Lee Perkinson and Tyrone Seaborne; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
A service reflecting on the life’s journey of Mrs. Thelma Corine Taylor Beamon will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, St. Luke AME Zion Church, Franklin, with pastor, the Rev. Kenneth L. Zollicoffer delivering the message.
The interment will be in Southview Cemetery.
On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by noon.
A traditional service will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc.
