Lillie C. Edwards
NORFOLK—Lillie Credle Edwards, 78, died May 31, 2009, after a brief stay in a local hospital.
She was born in Scranton, N.C., to the late Elgie and Thomas Credle.
Mrs. Edwards was a retiree of the Norfolk Public School System and was a church mother and devoted member of Holy Temple UHC.
She was predeceased by her husband, Willie P. Edwards Sr.; son, Willie P. Edwards Jr.; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her precious daughter and loving son-in-law, Gwen and Frank Langley Sr. of Chesapeake; sister, Ollie Gaskins (George) of Connecticut; grandson, Frank Langley Jr.; great-grandson, Mallik Langley; sister-in-law, Ethel Delores of Boykins; brothers-in- law, Russell W. Drake and Milton Brimage; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, god children and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Holy Temple UHC, Chesapeake. The Rev. Steven Pierce will be officiate.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk.
