SUFFOLK—Carrie Judson Turner Brown, 101, died May 22, 2009.
She was born in Isle of Wight County the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin Spivey Turner and James Henry Turner.
She was also predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Clyde Marshall Brown Sr.; sons, Clyde Marshall Brown Jr. and James Linwood Brown Sr.; sisters, Ethel Turner Murphy and Blanche Turner McGhurman; brother, Clifton Turner.
Mrs. Brown retired after 30 years as a foreman for Planters Peanuts.
She worked in the Munitions Factory during World War II.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Ellen Brown of Baton Rouge, La.; grandson and wife James L. Brown Jr. and Jane R. Brown; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, Jean M. Savage and Janice M. Gentry; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Holly Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating.
