Eula M. Bynum-Vaughan
PENDLETON, N.C.—Eula Mae Bynum-Vaughan, affectionately known as “Way,” was born in Pendleton, N.C., on Oct. 16, 1944 to Gracie Daye-Bynum and the late Oliver Bynum Sr., died May 24, 2009, at Obici Sentara Hospital in Suffolk.
She was preceded in death by her father and brother Oliver “Lafayette” Bynum Jr.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-laws, Andre Williams and Tamara of Elizabeth City, N.C. and Eric Vaughan and Monica of Franklin; her mother, Gracie Daye-Bynum of Pendleton, N.C.; five sisters, Flora (Lucille) Bynum-Newsome of Manhattan, N.Y., Bertha “Christine” Denson and brother-in-law Earl Denson of Pendleton, Senthia “Claudine” Newsome and brother-in-law Eley Newsome Sr. of Pendleton, Geraldine Bynum of Pendleton and Mary Ann Granger and brother-in-law Matthew Granger of Conway, N.C.; three grandchildren, Aniyah Olivia Vaughan, Ariel Christiana Vaughan and Jeanette Larshay Sessoms, 11 nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Zoar Missionary Baptist Church, Pendleton, with Dr. William F. Denson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Rich Square, N.C. is handling the arrangements.
