Manley E. Rountree Jr.
SUFFOLK—Manley Edward Rountree Jr., 82, died April 5, 2009, at Consulate Healthcare in Windsor.
He was born in Nansemond County, a son of the late Manley Edward and Orie Parker Rountree.
Mr. Rountree was a welder and a veteran of the U. S. Army and the Merchant Marines.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Stein Rountree; five daughters, Patricia Dalton, Cynthia Holland (Les), Carol Lane, Pamela Jones, and Jane Castello (Mike); three sons, Michael Jory, John Rountree, and William Rountree (Lisa); one sister, Elizabeth Anne Perry; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 1224, Franklin, VA 23851.
