Priscilla C. Ruffin
WAVERLY—Priscilla C. Branch Ruffin, 96, died Feb. 14, 2009.
Mrs. Ruffin was born to the late Oliver and Roberta Chambliss on June 12, 1912, in Waverly.
Survivors include her three granddaughters, Deborah G. Woodard (Alvin), of Wakefield, Phyllis G. Harris (Ronald) of Newport News, and Wanda G. Green (Anthony) of Windsor; nine great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
During the time of her illness, in-home care was provided through Personal Touch out of Waverly.
Companion aides included, Wanda Boone, Linda Jones and Rachel Busch.
The family would like to thank Riverside Convalescent Nursing Home in Smithfield, for their compassionate and loving care.
A funeral service was to be held at noon Saturday at First Baptist Church Wakefield, with the Rev. Charles Davis officiating.
Peace-Bland Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.

Willie M.G. Worrell
ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C.—Willie Mae Garris Worrell, 88, died Feb. 17, 2009.
Mrs. Garris was formerly of Portsmouth.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Worrell (Judy) of Portsmouth; a son-in-law, Tom Baker (Donna) of High Point, N.C.; a sister, Virginia Pope of Boykins; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Roanoke Rapids.
Burial will follow on Monday at 11 a.m. in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Central Baptist Church, 101 Georgia Ave., Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
