Pattie N. Barrett
WAKEFIELD—Pattie Newton Barrett, 82, died Feb. 16, 2009.
Born in Brunswick County on June 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Jackson and Adeline Maitland Newton.
She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Littleton.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 63 years, David Paul Barrett of Wakefield; a son, Douglas B. Barrett of Chesterfield; a sister, Dorothy N. Savedge of Littleton; a brother, Willie Bernard Newton of Petersburg; a grandson, Christopher Michael Barrett of Petersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, David Paul Barrett Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield. The Rev. Connie Gibbs Morris will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield.
The family will receive friends today at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. and then for a short time after the funeral service at the Wakefield United Methodist Church.
