SUFFOLK—Terry Darnell Hardy, 50, of the 5700 block of Godwin Blvd., died Dec. 24, 2008.
He was born June 3, 1958, to Bessie and Walter “Snook” Hardy.
Losing his mother at an early age, the Lord sent Mary and James Gatling to become the parents that he also loved.
Mr. Hardy was a native of Suffolk and a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School.
He worked for The Smithfield Packing Co. until he could no longer work.
He was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church in Windsor.
Survivors include a daughter, Latisha Hardy and a son, Robert White; two brothers, Walter W. Hardy Jr. (Janet) of Portsmouth and Michael Hardy (Elizabeth) of Alexandria; three sisters, Virginia L. Hardy Jones of Virginia Beach, Mary F. Johnson (Nathaniel) of Suffolk and Olivette Strickland of Virginia Beach; a wife, Faith B. Hardy and stepson, Nian Boone; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends to cherish his memory.
A life celebration service was held Tuesday at Christian Home Baptist Church, 20123 Longview Drive, Windsor, with Pastor Wendell Waller officiating.
Burial followed at Carver Memorial Cemetery in Suffolk.
J.T. Fisher Funeral Services were in charge of arrangements.
