Two arrested for burglarizing Southern Foods

FRANKLIN—Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing lottery tickets during a break-in at Southern Food Store at 700 South St. at 1:33 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Franklin police said.
Police responded to an alarm at the convenience store and upon arrival, noticed the front window was broken.
With help from residents who reported the burglary, police found the suspects on Grove Street and a foot chase followed. Officers caught Eric Lamonte Francis, 25, of Suffolk during the chase, and after an investigation, arrested Dajon Maress Stewart, 18, of 509 Ryland St., Apartment A, Franklin.
Both were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and obstruction of justice, and taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail in Suffolk.
