Wilton Harrington Sr.
SUFFOLK—Wilton Delandery Harrington Sr., 78, died Dec. 2, 2008.
A native of Hertford, N.C., he was the son of the late Wade Jack Harrington and Lillie Belle Williams.
Mr. Harrington retired as a machinist at the Newport News Shipyard and Dry Dock Co.
He was a member of the Suffolk Church of God. He served as a private in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce West “Paige” Harrington of Suffolk; two daughters and a son-in-law, Catherine H. Bradshaw of Franklin and Donna Harrington Williams and Charles Williams of Sedley; two sons, Wilton D. Harrington Jr. and Marcie Harrington of Warsaw and Kenneth W. Harrington and Tammi Harrington of Connecticut; three stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Steve D. Barnes and Barbara Barnes of Windsor, Terry R. Barnes of Courtland and Richard D. Barnes and Wendy Page of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jimmy R. Harrington Sr. of Suffolk.
A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. in the Suffolk Church of God with the Rev. James Hughes officiating.
Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery with military honors.
