SUFFOLK—Helen Patricia Lewis-Smith of Elwood Road, died Nov. 20, 2008.
“Tricia” as she was lovingly known was born Nov. 6, 1955 to the late Rufus Harris Sr. and Helen Harris.
She was a longtime member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Suffolk. For many years, she was employed with Wal Mart Department Stores, and remained until her health failed.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherdal N. Lewis, Suffolk; two sisters, Eleanor Harris of Suffolk and Julia Harris of Richmond; three brothers, Eric Harris (Carolyn), Suffolk, Rufus Harris, Jr. (Queen) of Richmond, Winston Harris of Washington, D.C.; three uncles, Joseph Lamberson, Wardell Lamberson and Willie Harris (Mary Virginia); two aunts, Velma and Fannie Lamberson; two sisters-in-law, Annie Lewis, Monica Newsome of Franklin; one brother-in-law, Johnny Lewis; two devoted friends, Clara Williams and Nancy Boone; a “second daughter” Nikki Knight, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
A service of love and remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. today at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 6100 Holy Neck Road, Suffolk, with Pastor Joseph Goode delivering the eulogy.
Burial is in the church cemetery.
On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church by 11 a.m.
Service will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin.
