SUFFOLK—Peggy Conner Adams, 76, died Oct. 28, 2008, in the home of her loving daughter and son-in-law in The Woodlands, Texas, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Adams was a native of the Churchland section of Portsmouth.
In recent years, she spent time between the Woodlands, Milan, N.H. and Suffolk, to be with her family.
She was a pharmacy technician at White Cross Pharmacy and volunteered at Portsmouth General Hospital.
In her high school years, she was the co-captain of her basketball team at Churchland High School and had the honor of being crowned Azalea Queen for Centenary Methodist Church.
She loved to garden, play the piano but most importantly, love on her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Ernest F. Adams Jr., wife Patricia of Ivor; daughters Deborah A. Crowder of Virginia Beach, Ann A. Evans and husband George of The Woodlands and Pamela A. Weeks and husband Don of Milan, N.H.; a sister, Betty Cooper Hunt of Suffolk and her longtime companion, A.F. McCotter Jr. of Suffolk; her grandchildren, Rick, Ryan, Brandon, Lindsay, Christopher, Tim, Adrian, Alissa, John, Jaime and Jennifer; and six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Adams Sr.; siblings, Phyllis Cooper Lance, Virginia Cooper Forrest, Ann Cooper Mims and Taylor Flowers Cooper Jr.
At the request of Mrs. Adams, no memorial services will be held.
Private burial will be performed at a later date.
