Dorothy L. Freeman
SUFFOLK—Dorothy Mae Lassiter Freeman, 79, died Oct. 28, 2008.
A native of Hobbsville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John T. Lassiter and Maxie L. Piland.
She was also predeceased by her husband, John Edward Freeman and brother, Frank Lassiter.
Mrs. Freeman retired from Planters Peanuts and was a member of First Baptist Church in Suffolk.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia M. Hagman of Capron; son and daughter-in-law, Earl L. Monds Jr. and K. Maria Monds of Newport News; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Maxie Louise Garganus; brother, John T. Lassiter, both of Hobbsville.
A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
