Randolph J. Griggs
SUFFOLK—Randolph Jackson “Jack” Griggs, 69, of the 2500 block of Bright Lane, died Oct. 18, 2008.
He was the son of the late Richard W. and Martha (McClenney) Griggs.
Mr. Griggs was also predeceased by his brothers, R.L. Griggs and Aubrey Griggs and sister, Versenia Panther. Jack was a veteran of U.S. Army where he was a sergeant and served with the military police.
He was employed as a security guard with The Pines Rehabilitation Center. He was an avid gardener, having a special love for flowers.
He also loved to cook.
Survivors include his sons, Rigo S. Griggs Sr. and wife Tinamarie of Patterson, N.Y., Randolph T. Griggs and wife Robin of Abington, Md.; four sisters, Bee Minard of Suffolk, Martha Whitley of Windsor, Joyce Adams, Anita Joyce; two brothers, Harvey Griggs and Roland Griggs, all of Suffolk; also missing him will be his nine beloved grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday in Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Don Milner.
Burial followed in Woodland United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Harrell & Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
