SMITHFIELD—Rufus Forrest Scott, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at his Smithfield home.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Smithfield, followed by private burial in Ivy Hill Cemetery.

Among his survivors are sisters Glenda Carr and Kay Bracey, both of Windsor.

Mr. Scott was the retired owner of R.F. Scott Mechanical in Smithfield.
