Shopping carts need returned to proper places

To the Editor:

I was made to help people.

People use me to lean on, ride kids, and to pick up groceries around the stores and then transport them to their automobiles.

My job is important, being in place and usable.

When not being pushed around, I love to rest inside the store’s storage areas, or outside in the racks. We fit close together and make it easy for the next tour of duty.

Being left alone in the parking lot or next to another basket and pole does not put us in place. Parking spaces need to be left clear. We can roll by ourselves, especially on a hill, or if pushed by the wind and rain.

People do not want old or new automobiles scratched or dented by roaming baskets. Hurts their feelings and makes a bad day.

Please take time to put me in the racks for my rest period so the next person can use me as you did. Thanks.
