SA boys fall to 6-10 with fourth straight loss

COURTLAND—Southampton Academy’s 60-47 home loss to Fuqua on Monday was its fourth straight in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference.

The Raiders dropped to 6-10 overall and 4-8 in the VCC despite Tonee Hill’s 12 points and 17 rebounds. Matt Nixon scored 11 points and made four steals, while Carson Camp added nine points.

In action Friday, the Raiders lost 47-43 to Kenston Forest School, despite 15 points and six assists from Zach Best. Camp added 10 points and Hill scored eight.

“We’re in the playoffs right now and we’re fighting for playoff position,” said Coach David Gibbs.

The Raiders travel to Brunswick Academy at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, in Lawrenceville. The junior varsity boys play at 6.
